Top: New York Yankees players gather near the mound as starting pitcher James Paxton leaves for the dugout during the 2nd inning of Saturday's game at the Washington Nationals. Paxton struggled and was not able to record an out during the inning. He gave up three runs on five hits in 1+ innings of work, as the Bronx Bombers lost 9-2, their first defeat of the 2020 MLB season.
Bottom left: The New York Jets are parting ways with safety Jamal Adams. Regarded as one of the top young defensive players in the NFL, Adams was traded to the Seattle Seahawks on Saturday in exchange for safety Bradley McDougald, two 1st-round draft picks, and a 3rd-round draft pick. Adams recorded only two interceptions in three seasons with the Jets, but also compiled 12 sacks.
Bottom right: Tom Thibodeau is on the verge of becoming the next head coach of the New York Knicks. Sources tell ESPN that the Knicks and Thibodeau are finalizing a five-year deal. Thibodeau most recently spent two-plus seasons coaching the Minnesota Timberwolves, and also led the Chicago Bulls to the playoffs five times.
