Wanda Mae Perkins, age 91, of Lafayette, TN, a native of Sulpher Creek, NY, passed away on Saturday, February 4, 2017 at Knollwood Manor in Lafayette. Funeral services were conducted on Tuesday, February 7 from the Chapel of the Anderson & Son Funeral Home in Lafayette, with Brother Dean Dyer officiating. Aaron Fraizer, Josh Dillehay, Randy Richter, Keith Hauri, Justin Miller and Will Christian served as Pallbearers. Interment followed in the Anderson and Son Memorial Park.
Wanda Perkins was born on December 19, 1925 in Sulpher Creek, NY, one of five children born to the late Alfred and Mable (Fann) Philbrick. She married Arthur Perkins in June of 1944, who preceded her in death in September of 1991. They shared 47 years together and raised two children.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by a brother, Alfred Philbrick, Jr.
She was a homemaker and worked during her young adult life in dietary at New York State Institute. She and her husband, in later years, made beautiful Christmas ornaments and sold them and she baked cakes and cookies for wedding, birthdays, anniversaries, whatever the occasion might be. She had been a member of a Methodist Church in New York but never moved membership after moving to Tennessee.
She is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Dennis and Nanette Perkins of Lafayette, TN; daughter and son-in-law, Donna and Charles Hauri of Lafayette, TN; sisters, Betty Pfleuger of Forestville, Janice Oaks of Cattaraugus and Doris Stenstrom of Lafayette, TN; grandchildren and spouses, Denise and Scott Viehweg of Irmo, SC, Karen and Tony Keen of Portland, TN, Kathy and Tommy Dillehay of Lafayette, TN, Kris and Randy Richter of Forestville and Keith Hauri, Kim and Trish Hauri, all of Lafayette, TN. She had 11 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
