Hundreds of volunteer fire departments across New York State will open their doors this weekend for RecruitNY, an initiative by the Firefighters Association of the State of New York (FASNY) to recruit volunteers. According to the RecruitNY website, there are 10 departments in Chautauqua County that will be participating. They include Chautauqua, Forestville, Gerry, Hanover Center, Kennedy, Sheridan, Silver Creek, Sunset Bay, West Dunkirk and Westfield.
