
Governor Kathy Hochul on Monday announced that the New York State Environmental Facilities Corporation's Green Innovation Grant Program has awarded $20.8 million to 17 projects that incorporate green storm water infrastructure, as well as implement energy and water efficiency measures. An additional $2.5 million in Engineering Planning Grants will help jumpstart planning for 56 water infrastructure projects. A total of five projects in Chautauqua County will received a share of the funding:
GIGP Projects:
· Town of Pomfret - $135,000 to install water meters with advanced metering infrastructure. This project will increase water conservation by collecting more frequent and accurate readings.
EPG Projects:
· Town of Ripley - $30,000 to identify sources of inflow and infiltration, evaluate alternatives, and recommend improvements to the wastewater collection system.
· Chautauqua County, North Chautauqua Lake Sewer District -$30,000 to identify sources of inflow and infiltration in the North Chautauqua Lake Sewer District, evaluate alternatives, and recommend improvements to the wastewater collection system.
· Village of Westfield - $30,000 to identify sources of inflow and infiltration and evaluate upgrades to the wastewater treatment plant, evaluate alternatives and recommend improvements to the wastewater collection and treatment system.
· Chautauqua County, Portland Pomfret Dunkirk Sewer District - $30,000 to identify sources of inflow and infiltration and evaluate upgrades to several pump stations, evaluate alternatives and recommend improvements to the wastewater collection system.
