Chautauqua County Executive Greg Edwards says his proposal to have the County Legislature consider with-holding Medicaid payments from the state starting in January is picking up traction across the state. He tells WDOE News more county leaders across the state are talking about it. WDOE News asked him about possible penalties from the state.

Regarding proposed cuts the County Legislature's Audit and Control Committee have recommended for the final County Budget, Edwards has reserved comment. He says he is concerned that most of the changes involve "one shot" revenue transfers.

The changes would reduce the increase in the County's full value tax rate from $1.13 per thousand to about 62 cents per thousand.
