Mayor proposes $10.4 million budget with no tax increase

Fredonia Mayor Athanasia Landis delivered her budget message on Monday during a special meeting of the Village Board of Trustees. The tentative $10.4 million spending plan did not include any tax increase. However, Dr. Landis is proposing the hiring of three full-time and four part-time employees to help with reducing overtime costs which the Mayor says, amounted to over $250,000 last year...

The proposed budget calls for a 3.9 percent increase in spending. Trustees have until early May to approve a final budget.
