Erie man sentenced in connection with Dunkirk area crimes

An Erie, Pennsylvania man who was convicted of carjacking and brandishing a firearm in furtherance of a crime of violence was sentenced in U.S. District Court in Buffalo today. U.S. Attorney James Kennedy Jr. announced that 37-year-old Dimas Colon-Cruz was sentenced to 154 months in prison. Dunkirk Police Chief Dave Ortolano says Colon-Cruz was one of three men arrested as a result of an investigation into a series of crimes that occurred in the Dunkirk area in July 2015...

The investigation involved Dunkirk Police, Erie, Pennsylvania Police, the State Police and the FBI. Another defendant, Michael Gonzalez-Colon, has been convicted and sentenced. Charges are pending against the third defendant, Denis Cruz.
