It won't be long before the taps are flowing from sugar maples across the state and state officials are looking to improve marketing efforts of the final product...real maple syrup. Governor Andrew Cuomo today announced the New York State Grown and Certified program is expanding to include the New York maple industry. He says the program will increase exposure for New York's maple producers. Lt. Governor Kathy Hochul visited a maple farm in Hamburg today to participate in the first ceremonial tree-tapping of the season. The state will be held its Annual Maple Weekends on March 17-18 and March 24-25.
