A traffic stop last week in the Town of North Harmony led to the arrest of a Jamestown man on drug charges. Chautauqua County Sheriff's deputies pulled over a vehicle for a traffic violation on Route 394 just before 1:45 AM on February 9th. A passenger, 26-year-old Jonathan Vega-Rivera, was wanted on multiple felony and misdemeanor warrants. Vega-Rivera was taken into custody on the outstanding charges. A search of the vehicle with assistance from K-9 Link led to the discovery of drug paraphernalia, multiple prescription pills, and a quantity of methamphetamine. Vega-Rivera was charged with two counts of 7th-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, then remanded to the Chautauqua County Jail. Meanwhile, the driver of the vehicle, 18-year-old Camille Lopez of Jamestown, was found to be unlicensed. She was charged with unlicensed operation and inadequate headlamps.
