Winter Storm Warning Issued from 1:00 PM Friday to 1:00 PM Saturday

WINTER STORM WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 1 PM FRIDAY TO 1 PM EST SATURDAY.

WHAT...Rain changing to freezing rain and sleet Friday afternoon, then heavy snow expected Friday evening through Saturday morning. Travel will be very difficult, including a slippery Friday evening commute. Total snow accumulations of 6 to 12 inches and ice accumulations of up to one tenth of an inch are expected.

WHERE...Chautauqua and Southern Erie counties.

WHEN...From 1 PM Friday to 1 PM EST Saturday.

ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Be prepared for a widespread, heavy and wet snowfall that will create difficult travel conditions across the region. The rain and freezing rain at the onset of the event, followed by heavy snowfall, will create extra slippery travel conditions.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...Widespread accumulating snow and ice will create dangerous travel conditions.
