Heavy lake effect snow developing, many crashes during AM commute

Heavy lake effect snow and blowing snow will impact portions of Western New York through Wednesday evening and will pose a major challenge for motorists who must travel in hazardous conditions.  A Lake Effect Snow Warning remains in effect through 7 pm Wednesday.  A general snowfall during the morning commute resulted in a number of crashes across the county according to Chautauqua County Sheriff Joe Gerace...

Gerace-Drivers have to be ready for winter driving

Travel will be very difficult at times.  The National Weather Service in Buffalo says additional snow accumulations of 8 to 14 inches are expected in the most persistent lake snows.  Winds gusting as high as 40 mph will produce significant blowing and drifting snow.
