Region to Warm Up This Weekend, but Cold Air to Return Next Week

We will see another warmup this weekend, as temperatures continue to trend above normal. Wood says the unusually warm weather is due to a large trough of low pressure set up over the western part of the country, forcing warm air from the southeast to move north. While we haven't seen as much typical winter weather in recent days, don't get used to it.  Wood says a pattern change is on the way for next week...

Jeff Wood: don't get used to it

The National Weather Service had a hazardous weather statement earlier indicating that a significant widespread snow event was possible Monday into Tuesday, but computer models are trending more toward the storm bringing a cold rain event.

Pictured are high temperatures forecast for Saturday.
