State Senator Cathy Young is calling on the Public Service Commission to act so the NRG repowering project in Dunkirk can move forward. On Thursday, Young issued a letter to the PSC, requesting the Commission's open docket to be closed and the 2014 National Grid and NRG Energy Term Sheet agreement authorization to be continued. That's one of the few remaining roadblocks keeping the project from moving ahead. The Olean Republican says she has spoken to NRG officials, and they have been taking the necessary steps to begin the repowering project since a lawsuit by Entergy was dropped in November.
