Howie Hawkins is the Green Party candidate and in an interview with WDOE News, the 61-year-old Syracuse resident feels his campaign is picking up momentum.

Hawkins was recently critical about how the Pegulas made their fortunes and were able to buy the Buffalo Bills. He's glad that the Bills will be staying in Western New York, but he questions the Pegulas ties to fracking. While he admits he doesn't know much about the project involving the repowering of the NRG plant in Dunkirk, Hawkins says he is not opposed with the use of natural gas for the transition to clean renewables.
