A woman from Angola was arrested Friday morning after she was found to allegedly be driving in the Town of Hanover with a blood alcohol level more than four times the legal limit. Around 8:30 AM, a concerned citizen flagged down a State Police vehicle on Routes 5 and 20. Troopers stopped 44-year-old Norma Peterson after she crossed into the oncoming lane, then drove over the white fog line in her lane. While speaking with Peterson, police noticed an odor of alcohol and other signs of intoxication. She then failed a series of sobriety tests and was taken to the State Police barracks in Collins, where she registered a BAC of .34%. Peterson is due in Hanover Town Court on one count of aggravated DWI.
