The Lakeshore Humane Society will hold a special "Souper Bowl Saturday" event at its Adoption Center on Saturday, February 10 from 11 am to 3 pm. The Center is located at 431 E. Chestnut Street in Dunkirk. A variety of homemade soups will be be available for purchase. (Vegetarian options will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.) For $20, have your soup and take home a beautiful soup bowl (with the LHS logo) hand-crafted by local artisan Lisa Eppolito. There will also be bread, beverage, and dessert. Lunch without the artisanal bowl is available for $15. Come and warm up with some soup, while supporting the LHS's efforts to help dogs and cats in need of caring homes. While at the LHS Adoption Center, check out the "Cat's Meow" Boutique, where you can find pet-related items and further support the LHS. Also, please note that the LHS is collecting refundable bottles and cans in a collection bin in the lobby of the Adoption Center. The usual weekly Saturday Open Adoption Hours will not be held this day, but will resume on Feb. 17. Open Adoption Hours are also held each Wednesday evening from 6 to 8 pm.
