An Ellington man faces drunk driving and other charges following a traffic stop early Saturday morning in the Town of Poland. Chautauqua County Sheriff's deputies pulled over a vehicle driven by 45-year-old James McNamara on Route 62 shortly before 2:30 AM. Deputies found that McNamara's driving privileges in New York State were revoked for a prior DWI conviction. Further investigation found that McNamara was allegedly intoxicated and in possession of an open container of alcohol inside the vehicle. He will appear in Poland Town Court on charges of felony aggravated unlicensed operation, DWI, consumption of alcohol in a motor vehicle, unlicensed operator, speeding, and failure to keep right.
