Shirley Rose Huff, 89, of Collins passed away on Tuesday, July 14, 2026 at the Gowanda Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. She was born in the Town of Arkwright on April 19, 1937, the daughter of the late Benjamin and Helen (Merchant) Davis.
Shirley worked as an executive housekeeper at the former J.N. Adam Developmental Center in Perrysburg for 28 years. At one point, Shirley had her own stained glass business -- Stained Windows & Mirrors -- in Collins for 22 years.
She was a member of the Gowanda American Legion Ladies Auxiliary.
Survivors include her daughter, Beth Harris of North Collins; her son, Lynn (Janet) Crowell of Lawtons; a brother, Oliver (Irene) Davis of South Dayton; two grandchildren, Monique (Michael Baszto) Harris of West Henrietta and Keith Crowell of North Collins; three great-grandchildren, Audrey, Parker and Noelle Crowell, all of North Collins; and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her first husband, Richard Crowell, whom she married on December 22, 1956 and who died on July 25, 2005; her second husband, Jon Huff, whom she married on December 14, 2007 and who died on August 29, 2011; her son, Andrew R. Crowell, who died on July 11, 2023; two brothers, Paul and Edward Davis; and her sister, Norma Jean Crimi.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Private interment will be in Forestville Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions may be made either to the Gowanda Assembly of God, 78 Allen Street, Gowanda, NY 14070; or the Collins Center Fire Company, PO Box 461, Collins Center, NY 14035.
