Robert J. Howard, 82, of Bradenton, FL passed on Sunday, May 31, 2026. He was born on June 1, 1943 in Jamestown, the son of Robert & Ann Howard. He graduated from Jamestown High School in 1961.
Bob served in the U.S. Army and later trained and became a union ironworker. During his career, he traveled and was involved in steel construction all over the USA. He retired from Carrara Steel in Erie, PA.
In 1969, he married Barbara Beehler and settled down to raise their family. As a longtime resident of Westfield, Bob helped to coach Little League baseball, was a volunteer fireman, and helped with cooking at the annual ox roast. He loved antiques, hunting, cruises, eating and grilling great food, reading, golf, the Buffalo Bills and Sabres, motorcycles, and ornamental metal work. Once retired, he was always active, helped at the DAV and worked as an election official.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Barbara; son, Nathan; brother, Frank; and his parents. Bob is survived by children, Ronald (Monica) Mazany of Palm Coast, FL; daughter, Cherie (Troy) Mazany-Smith of Dewittville and Shane (Carmen) Howard of Peoria, IL; six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; sister, Molly; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Bob will be remembered for his strong character, dependability, and amazing work ethic.
A private family Celebration of Life will be held.
