George V. "Vic" McCroskey, 77, of Silver Creek passed away Saturday morning, May 31, 2025 at Mercy Hospital in Buffalo.
Vic was born on December 16, 1947 in Buffalo, the son of the late George and Louise (nee Heinz) McCroskey. He married the former Barbara Becker on April 8, 1983 in Niagara Falls.
Vic was a graduate of Lake Shore High School, Class of 1967. He joined the Buffalo Carpenters Union Local #276 and worked on many construction projects in Western New York, traveling with one of his best friends, Leo Morabito to different job sites throughout the city. He also served his local union #276 as their treasurer for a period of time.
He was the "ultimate handyman' and finish carpenter, doing many side jobs for his family and friends. He took great pride in teaching his children and grandchildren different skills to help make them become more independent.
He loved the outdoors, hunting and going to his camp in Leon. But most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family especially his grandchildren. Vic will be greatly missed by family and friends.
He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Barbara (nee Becker) McCroskey; two daughters, Kimberly Anderson of East Amherst and Elizabeth "Liz" (Josh White) McCroskey of Cedar City, UT; five cherished grandchildren, Dylan Anderson, James, Isabelle and Landon York and Hudson White; two very dear friends, Fritz (Sue) Seegert and Leo (Maureen) Morabito; along with many nephews and a niece.
