Connie Sue Gabel, 53, of Gowanda passed away on Saturday, May 10, 2025 at Brooks Memorial Hospital in Dunkirk. She was born on July 15, 1971 in Gowanda, the daughter of the late Douglas E. and Ruth Y. (Leiker) Gabel.
Connie attended Gowanda Central School and had worked with the Integrated Employment Program at Heaven Scent in Gowanda. She also had participated in the Special Olympics and enjoyed therapeutic horseback riding. She was a faithful member of St. Joseph's RC Church.
She is survived by a sister, Karen (Bert) Miller and a brother, Gary (Barb) Gabel, both of Gowanda; several loving caregivers; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call on Wednesday, May 14 from 10:00-11:30 AM at the Mentley Funeral Home Inc., 105 East Main Street in Gowanda. A Mass of Christian Burial will be said on Wednesday at 12:00 PM from St. Joseph's RC Church in Gowanda. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery in Gowanda.
Memorials may be made to the Roswell Park Cancer Institute or St. Joseph's RC Church.
