Carolyn Rawlinson, 83, of Westfield passed away on Tuesday, April 22, 2025 at St. Vincent's Hospital in Erie, PA. She was a devoted sister, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother to her family.
Born in Rochdale, England on September 10, 1941 to Clifford and Elsie Dearden, she married her husband John Rawlinson on October 12, 1963. After having her children, Jillian and Andrew, they made the courageous decision to emigrate to the United States and settled in the Village of Westfield, which she then called home for over 45 years. Immersing herself into the community, she worked at Westfield Memorial Hospital until she retired, making lifelong friends.
An avid Buffalo Bills fan, she served as a Blue Coat for many years, working on the sidelines doing whatever she could for her beloved team. When she wasn't playing golf, you would see her driving around town in her red Mini Cooper adorned with Bills regalia, including many personalized license plates, the most recent celebrating our QB, Josh Allen. An animal lover she was known for her love of cats, rescuing many.
She is survived by her sister, Melanie (Peter); her children, Jillian and Andrew (Shannon); her grandchildren, Taylor (Alana), Haley (Tom), Brittany and Zachary; her great-grandchild, Lucas Rawlinson; along with many nieces and nephews in England.
Our hearts are broken but, after a 20-year battle with myelodysplastic syndrome, she is finally not in pain and is reunited with her husband, John Rawlinson. She will be missed by many, but the impact she made on the community will not go unnoticed.
There will be a family memorial in Florida and then a celebration of her life in Westfield this summer.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Mason Funeral Home, 37 Clinton Street in Westfield. Please share online condolences at www.masonfuneral.com.
