Robert M. Siskar, 88, passed peacefully on Saturday, March 18, 2023 while surrounded by family. He was born on July 5, 1934 in Buffalo.
Robert is predeceased by the love of his life, Marion Rose (Sally); his parents, William and Francis Siskar; his son, Robert M. Siskar, Jr.; and his grandson, Joseph Brown. He is survived by his children, John (Susan) Siskar, Patty (Joe) Brown, Nancy (Kevin) Brown and Danny (Debbie) Siskar; grandchildren, John, Ben, Amanda, David, Ryan, Kevin, Jessica, Danny, Sarah and Emma; many great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and members of the extended Siskar and Stuff families.
A member of the Dunkirk-Fredonia business community, Bob opened B&S Tire in the 1970s and successfully ran the business until 1998, when he turned it over to his sons, Robert and Daniel. He was a member of the Dunkirk-Fredonia Lions Club, the Chamber of Commerce, and Holy Trinity Church.
Family was central to everything Bob did. He is remembered by his family as an aggressive game board and card player, an ice rink and snow fort builder, an instigator of many water fights and other family contests, and as a leader in numerous in family adventures to local sites of interest. He was never afraid of a good crossword puzzle. Bob and Sally were avid golfers, bowlers, and spent many blissful winters in Florida.
Bob donated his body to the University at Buffalo Medical Center.
Services will take place on Wednesday, March 22 at 10:00 AM at Holy Trinity Church, and a gathering of family and friends will follow at the Fredonia Beaver Club.
In lieu of flowers, the family would welcome donations to St. Columban's on the Lake or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
