Judith H. Lyon, 85, of Westfield peacefully went to be with her Lord on Sunday, October 16, 2022. She was born on June 13, 1937 in Westfield, the eldest daughter of the late Gordon and Leone (Jaquith) Hawk.
Judy is survived by her kind and loving husband of 66 years, Bruce P. Lyon, whom she married on February 21, 1956; Bruce gave Judy the world. She is further survived by her five children, Amber (Glenn) Laurie, Aaron (Melissa) Lyon, Audrey Gaye (Will) Mason, Andrew (Teri) Lyon and Amy (Dale) Peterson; 14 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and three siblings, Bill (Pat) Hawk, Nancy (Paul) Napper and Tim Hawk.
Judy was a 1955 graduate of Westfield Academy and Central School. She was a lifelong member of the First Baptist Church in Westfield, as well as a Sunday school teacher for many years. Judy was an awarding winning quilter, traveling the world working on her quilts, winning best in show at the Chautauqua Fall Festival Quilt Show. In her later years, Judy and Bruce became avid bird watchers and worked together on "wood creations."
Relatives and friends may call on Friday, October 21 from 2:00-4:00 PM and 6:00-8:00 PM at the Mason Funeral Home, 37 Clinton Street in Westfield. Funeral service and burial will be private.
