Susanna "Sue" Horlacher Robbins, 100, of Brocton passed away on Saturday. November 13, 2021 at Brooks Memorial Hospital in Dunkirk, with her children at her side. She was born on January 2, 1921 in Lamberton, the daughter of the late John Horlacher and Margaret Johanna Joy Weir.
Sue was a 1937 graduate of Fredonia High School. She was a homemaker and helped to take care of the family farm in Brocton.
Sue belonged to the Fredonia Squadron 59 Sons of the American Legion Post 59, the Fredonia Grange No. 1, the Tri-Church Parish in Brocton, and was a life member of the National Home Gardening Club.
She enjoyed bowling, square dancing, cooking, baking pies, flower gardening, crocheting, making quilts, and spending time with children and grandchildren.
She is survived by one son, Roy (Sheryl Marsh) Robbins of Jamestown; one daughter, Sharon (David) Fryer of Portland; her three grandchildren, Robin (Ron) Rafan of Brocton, Dennis (Rebecca) Robbins of Jamestown and Lori Robbins (Lanre Ige) of Columbus, IN; a granddaughter-in-law, Julie Robbins of Newton, NJ; seven great-grandchildren, Heather Eckstrom, Gabrielle Rafan, Jacob Stansbury, James Robbins, Gregory Robbins, Craig Robbins, Chad Robbins and Michael Robbins; four great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William C. Robbins; a daughter, Margie Robbins; a grandson, Jason Robbins; her brothers, John Horlacher of Brocton and Joseph Horlacher of Jamestown; her sisters, Marion Horlacher of Fredonia, Theresa Horlacher of Fredonia, Catherine Pieper of Hornell, Margaret Waite of Elmira and Elizabeth Horlacher of Lamberton.
At Susanna's request, there will be no public services observed. A private burial will take place at the Portland Evergreen Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
Memorial contributions can be made to the Brocton Fire Department or the Humane Society of Dunkirk.
