Priscilla A. Seybold

Priscilla A. Seybold, 76, of Dunkirk quietly passed away on Wednesday, June 6, 2018 at Heritage Park in Jamestown. She was born on December 16, 1941, daughter of Clarence & Florence (Seileman).

She was married to Gerald L. Seybold from August 20, 1966 until his passing on March 11, 1980. They enjoyed 13 years of marriage together. Since 1981, Priscilla enjoyed the companionship of Wayne L. Wilcox of Cassadaga for the next 27 years until his passing in 2008.

Priscilla grew up in the small farming community of South Dayton. She is an alumnus of Pine Valley Central School, Class of 1959, and she attended Fredonia State College, graduating in 1963 with a degree in education. Her love for children led to a career in babysitting for most of her life, helping to raise dozens of children over the span of five decades.

Priscilla was an avid bowler most of her life and very active in many adult bowling leagues and youth leagues in the area and most recently at Lucky Lanes. She filled positions ranging from secretary/treasurer to youth coach every Saturday at Lucky Lanes, helping to organize the Grape Belt USBC Youth Association for 30 years. In 1990, she was inducted into the Dunkirk Women's Bowling Association Hall of Fame. She was often a local delegate for national bowling conventions around the country.

She was famous at Christmas time when it came to her cooking and baking skills; known for her tearings, fudge, cookies and anything else that brought comfort to family and friends. She was a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church in Dunkirk.

Priscilla is survived by her three children, Kevin Seybold of Dunkirk, David Seybold of Lewisburg, PA and Mary (Keith) Butcher of South Dayton; her five grandchildren, Ryan and Rebecca Butcher of South Dayton, Alexis Seybold of Silver Creek, Amy (Santiago) Beato of Fredonia and Kevin Michael Seybold, Jr. of Fredonia; and one great-grandchild, Callie Voigt of Silver Creek. She is additionally survived by three sisters, Patricia Steward of Kennedy, Judy Nelson of Canterbury, NH and Kathy Felton of Warwick, MA; and two brothers, Clarence "Joe" (Jeannie) Pagett of Jamestown and Phil (Cathy) Pagett of South Dayton. She was predeceased by her husband, Gerald L. Seybold of Dunkirk and her parents, Clarence and Florence (Seileman) Pagett of South Dayton.

Due to her condition, her body has been donated to the University at Buffalo Anatomical Gift Program for future medical education to train the next generation of doctors.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial mass, which will be celebrated on Thursday, August 16 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, 328 Washington Ave., Dunkirk. Friends and family may call an hour before the memorial mass. There will be a luncheon to follow at the Clarion, 30 Lake Shore Drive East in Dunkirk. All are welcome.

The family asks in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Lucky Lanes Junior Bowling, 10387 Bennett Road, Fredonia, NY 14063, where an educational award will be set up in honor of her years of dedication.
