The exit ramps at Exit 59 on the Thruway near Dunkirk were shut down for about three hours Thursday morning after a truck that was hauling a food additive turned on its side. State Police say the driver of the truck, identified as 33-year-old Magdala Laguerre of Hillside, New Jersey, had to be freed by firefighters from Fredonia and East Dunkirk. Troopers say Laguerre was transported to Brooks Memorial Hospital for a wrist injury and bruises and contusions to her body. Troopers say Laguerre may have been traveling too fast on the ramp, and charges are pending. Both ramps re-opened shortly before noon. The truck was hauling a food additive known as liquid latex at the time of the crash.
