Man Charged with Murder of Woman Whose Remains Were Found in Portland

Authorities have announced an arrest in a case that involved the discovery of a set of human remains in the north county in September 2021. The Buffalo Police Department, Erie County District Attorney's Office and Chautauqua County Sheriff's Office made the announcement during a joint press conference at Buffalo Police Headquarters late Wednesday morning. Mull's remains were found near a hiking trail in a wooded area off Woleben Road in the Town of Portland. Other agencies involved with the investigation included State Police, Niagara Falls Police, Lakewood-Busti Police, the Erie County Crime Analysis Center, and the Applied Forensic Science Department at Mercyhurst University.
