One person was flown by helicopter to an area hospital following a crash involving three vehicles on I-90 in the Town of Portland late Thursday afternoon. According to State Police Troop T, the driver of an eastbound vehicle in the area of milepost 479.0 did not see traffic slowing up ahead and took evasive action in an attempt to avoid a crash shortly before 5:30 PM. However, the driver, identified as a 73-year-old woman from Michigan, wound up striking two vehicles in the process. Troopers say the woman was transported to the Hamot Medical Center in Erie for treatment of injuries. The drivers of the other two vehicles were not injured. The crash caused one lane of traffic on I-90 to shut down.
