Senate Majority Leader Charles Schumer is calling for the Department of Health and Human Services to provide relief for impacted health care providers across upstate New York following a recent ransomware attack. Schumer, who held a video conference call with reporters on Tuesday, called on the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) to begin opening up accelerated payments, similar to those issued during the COVID-19 pandemic.
