The Chautauqua County Sheriff's Office has announced a charge against a County Jail inmate who escaped custody while on a work detail earlier this week. The Sheriff's Office Criminal Investigation Division says it has charged 44-year-old Ralph Patterson with 3rd-degree escape stemming from the incident that occurred Monday in the Town of Ellery. Patterson is being held on $25,000 bail.
