A local nonprofit organization has been awarded funding through the New York State Environmental Protection Fund's Park and Trail Partnership Grant program. Governor Kathy Hochul announced Friday that the Boutwell Hill Ski Club will receive $239,564 to provide environmentally-friendly and sustainable trail rehabilitation of the Homestead cross-country ski trail in Boutwell Hill State Forest, located in the towns of Charlotte and Cherry Creek. It's part of $1.8 million awarded statewide to support 27 nonprofits involved with stewardship of state parks, trails, historic sites and other public lands.
