Three people, including a current student and a former student from a Cattaraugus County school district, died in a one-vehicle crash late Saturday night. The Cattaraugus County Sheriff's Office reports that the vehicle was traveling at a high rate of speed on Old Route 17 in the Town of Salamanca. In a statement late Sunday morning, Salamanca City Central School Superintendent Mark Beehler said that a recent graduate of Salamanca High School, a current Salamanca High School student, and a Franklinville resident lost their lives. Beehler added that a fourth person, another Salamanca High School student, was hospitalized.
