The City of Dunkirk's first weekend event of the summer season -- "Fired Up for Summer" -- will kick off on Thursday, June 8th. Singer-songwriter Max Muscato and headliner In Crowd will perform at the no-cost Music on the Pier Summer Concert Series. Muscato's performance begins on 5:25 PM, with In Crowd to follow at 6:45 PM. Then on Friday, June 9th, the city and Dunkirk Professional Firefighters Local 616 will host the 2023 Dunkirk Firefighter Hose Race, starting at 6:00 PM; that event is open to the public with food/drink and gift specials from the boardwalk merchants. The Dunkirk Fire Department will also have Marine One, its new fire and rescue boat, on display.
