The New York State Park Police conducted a search and rescue for a lost cross-country skier at Allegany State Park Wednesday evening. The 59-year-old man was reported lost near the Art Roscoe and Ryan Trails shortly after 7 pm. Park Police first contacted the man via cell phone. Next, with assistance from the Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Department, used a drone to pinpoint his location. A Park Police officer then used a tracked UTV to pick him up. Park Police say the man was escorted out shortly before 9:30 pm in good health.
