Snow winding down after winter storm hits WNY

A major winter storm that's hitting the Northeast brought heavy, wet snow to much of Western New York. A Winter Storm Warning for Chautauqua, Cattaraugus and Erie counties was set to expire at 10:00 AM. Meteorologist Dave Thomas at the National Weather Service says the storm brought anywhere from 8 to 12 inches the area, enough to cause snow covered and slippery roads for the morning commute...

Thomas-Storm brought about 8 to 12 inches of snow

Lingering lake effect snow showers may bring another 1 to 3 inches of snowfall to the area through this evening. 

Here are the latest snowfall totals from the National Weather Service, as of 10:46 AM:

Perrysburg - 16.8 inches
Cattaraugus - 12.7 inches
Eden - 12.5 inches
Gerry - 12.3 inches
Silver Creek - 11.0 inches
Dewittville - 10.5 inches
Fredonia - 10.0 inches
Little Valley - 10.0 inches
Jamestown - 9.9 inches
Kennedy - 9.8 inches
Mayville - 9.3 inches
Dunkirk - 7.5 inches
Falconer - 6.8 inches
