
The Cattaraugus County Health Department announced 60 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 this weekend. Health officials say there were 33 new cases on Saturday and 27 new cases on Sunday, which brings the county's total to 856 since the start of the pandemic. The latest cases include 43 in the southeast part of the county, eight in the northeast part of the county, seven in the southwest part of the county, and two in the northwest part of the county. Meanwhile, there are 20 county residents with COVID-19 who are currently hospitalized. Of the county's 856 total cases, 258 are active, 574 have recovered, and 24 have died. As of Sunday, there are 545 county residents in either mandatory or precautionary quarantine, 53,013 tests have been adminstered, and there have been 52,095 negative test results. The county's seven-day infection rate is now 6.5%, an increase of 1.3% over the past two days.
