County DA announces that no charges will be filed against police officer

Chautauqua County District Attorney Patrick Swanson held a news conference Friday afternoon at the Fredonia Opera House releasing details of a four-month long investigation into last December's police-involved shooting in the village. Swanson announced that charges will not be filed against Police Officer Nathan Scriven who fatally shot 23-year-old Gueorgui Penev. Swanson-Thorough investigation covering four months
Penev was found to have a quantity of LSD and other narcotics in his system. The investigation also led to the arrest of 21-year-old Amanda Bridges, a college student from Erie County. Bridges allegedly sold Penev LSD and was charged Friday morning with criminal sale of a controlled substance and criminal possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell. Bridges was transported to the Chautauqua County Jail for arraignment.
