The Jamestown man convicted of shooting and killing his estranged wife during a domestic incident just over a year ago was sentenced today to 25-years in state prison. Chautauqua County District Attorney Patrick Swanson says County Court Judge David Foley sentenced 37 year-old Keith Robbins Monday morning for first-degree manslaughter in the death of 36 year-old Sheri Robbins. Swanson says he's pleased with the sentence, because it spares the Robbins' children from having to testify in a trial...

Even if they were able to get a conviction for second-degree murder, Swanson says Robbins still could have only received a 15 year-to-life sentence. Under the plea deal, Robbins waived his right to appeal on most aspects of the case. He was also sentenced to five-years post release supervision. Swanson says Robbins will spend at least 23-years in prison before there is any consideration for an earlier release.
