A Dunkirk couple who owns a construction company is accused of conspiring to defraud a local resident. An investigation by State Police in Fredonia has resulted in 30-year-olds Stanley Martucci and Alycia Martucci getting charged with one felony count each of 1st-degree scheme to defraud. Troopers say Stanley Martucci Construction was hired to build an addition to a residence and a garage in the Town of Sheridan. The property owners gave a down payment and expected work to begin in June. The company began demolition, but repeatedly asked for cash to continue the process. By August, no building had begun, and the property owners had paid thousands of dollars. The investigation revealed that there were similar incidents revolving around that company, with the Martuccis allegedly defrauding people by false representations and promises, collecting large sums of money with minimal project completions. Anyone who has had a similar incident with Stanley Martucci Construction is asked to call State Police in Fredonia at 679-1549.
