North County escapes flooding and widespread wind damage

No flooding problems have cropped up in Northern Chautauqua County, although a Flood Warning remains in effect until 4:15 pm this afternoon.  County Emergency Services Director Julius Leone says local and county officials have been monitoring developments since the big snow melt began last weekend.

The strong winds that hit the area Monday night did down some trees and power lines according to Leone.

Calmer weather should prevail over the next several days as the area dodges a coastal storm that should keep much of the snow well to the east of us.
