The Chautauqua County Legislature will retain its GOP majority, but exactly how many seats that party will have is still up in the air. According to unofficial Election Night results from the Chautauqua County Board of Elections, 13 of the 19 seats on the legislature in 2027 will belong to Republicans. However, two of the districts in Jamestown are too close to call. In District 9, Republican John Vogan leads by a 12-vote margin -- 795-783 -- over Democrat Vince DeJoy; Charles Nazzaro will fill that seat if DeJoy wins. And in District 11, Democrat Robert Whitney holds a 15-vote lead over Republican Jeremy Maggio, 808-793.
