New York State has filled more than one million potholes on roads so far this year. Governor Kathy Hochul recently joined a New York State Department of Transportation maintenance team on Long Island to personally fill the state's one millionth pothole. The work has been part of an unprecedented and ongoing effort by the State DOT to restore and repave thousands of lane miles of vital roadways across the state this year. Of the one million potholes filled by the DOT, approximately 42,000 were in the western Southern Tier.
