A Fredonia man is facing a plethora of charges after a motorcycle pursuit late Wednesday night ended with him crashing in the City of Dunkirk's Second Ward. Dunkirk Police say they were notified by Fredonia Police about a motorcycle entering the city north on Central Avenue at a high rate of speed shortly after 11:45 PM. Officers say the pursuit began after the motorcycle, still traveling at a high rate of speed, passed a vehicle that was stopped at a red right at the intersection of Central Avenue and 5th Street. The chase ended when the motorcyclist lost control and crashed in the area of Point Drive West and Crooked Brook Drive. Officers say the motorcyclist, 25-year-old Jayden Beach, tried to flee again, but he was removed from the motorcycle and taken into custody without incident. Dunkirk Fire arrived to scene to evaluate Beach, who signed off on medical treatment and was transported to Dunkirk Police headquarters. He was issued numerous vehicle and traffic tickets and was also charged with 3rd-degree unlawfully fleeing a police officer in a motor vehicle. Police say Beach was released due to New York State's bail reform law.
