
A first responder from Clymer is one of 53 new additions to the New York State Fallen Firefighters Memorial. Randall Shampoe, Jr. was among those honored this week at the state's 29th annual Fallen Firefighters Memorial Ceremony in Albany, which honors 2,871 firefighters in the state whose lives were lost in the line of duty. Shampoe served with the Clymer Volunteer Fire Department for 26 years as a firefighter and Assistant Chief. In December 2020, he died at the age of 46 due to complications from COVID-19.
