Two Jamestown men are accused of possessing scrap metal and copper that had been stolen from a business on the city's east side. Jamestown Police responded to the scene at about 3:00 PM Tuesday for a suspicious situation complaint. On arrival, officers located 59-year-old Eugene Lesak, Jr. and 62-year-old Mark Brightman inside the fenced-in area of the business when they had no permission to be there. Officers say an investigation additionally discovered that the two allegedly possessed the stolen material, with Brightman also allegedly in possession of a small quantity of methamphetamine. Both men were charged with 5th-degree criminal possession of stolen property and 3rd-degree criminal trespass, and Brightman was additionally charged with 7th-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. The two were released with appearance tickets in accordance with New York State's bail reform law and will appear in Jamestown City Court at a later date.
