A faith organization is backing Aaron Gies in his bid for Congress. Catholics Vote Common Good has announced its endorsement of Gies. According to Gies' campaign, the organization is citing his "commitment to lowering everyday costs, holding government accountable, and policies that protect the dignity and well-being of every person.
National co-chair Denise Murphy McGraw says, "Aaron understands that public service is a moral responsibility and that our policies must recognize the dignity of every person. At a time when our communities need leaders who will stand with working families, protect the vulnerable and bring people together, Aaron offers the principled and compassionate leadership this moment demands."
Gies says he's honored to receive that endorsement, adding, "My faith has taught me that every person has inherent dignity, and that we have a responsibility to build communities where everyone has the opportunity to live a good life. That belief is at the heart of why I'm running for Congress and why our campaign is focused on making a good life affordable for working families across NY-23."
