Widely scattered showers and thunderstorms will develop across Western New York Sunday afternoon and evening ahead of a cold front, with isolated severe storms possible. The National Weather Service's Storm Prediction Center has the entire region under a marginal severe weather risk, with isolated damaging wind gusts and large hail as the primary risk. Forecasters say thunderstorms may also produce torrential rainfall, but flood risk will be limited.
2:20 PM UPDATE: The severe weather risk has been upgraded to slight for most of Western New York, including most of Chautauqua County.
