Two people were taken into custody after a traffic stop in the Town of Westfield last week. Chautauqua County Sheriff's deputies say they saw a vehicle leaving a storage unit on Prospect Road shortly after 3:45 PM Thursday. Deputies say the driver, 22-year-old Kaelyn Hayward (pictured), was known to have a suspended license. They pulled over the vehicle, which also contained 37-year-old Matthew Mulville of Brocton as a passenger. According to deputies, a records check confirmed that Mulville had an arrest warrant from State Police. A check of his person and the vehicle located drug paraphernalia. Deputies arrested Hayward for the drug paraphernalia in the vehicle and the suspended license, and a search of her belongings turned up 19.8 grams of fentanyl, 4.0 grams of methamphetamine, and $281 in cash. Deputies then obtained a search warrant for the storage unit she had been seen leaving. That resulted in the seizure of an additional amount of fentanyl, drug paraphernalia and cash. The Sheriff's Office has charged Hayward with two counts of 3rd-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, plus one count each of 7th-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, 2nd-degree criminally using drug paraphernalia, 3rd-degree aggravated unlicensed operation and unregistered motor vehicle. She was taken to the Chautauqua County Jail for centralized arraignment. Meanwhile, Mulville was turned over to State Police for his warrant.
