30 New Citizens Take Oaths of Allegiance in Chautauqua's First-Ever Naturalization Ceremony

Chautauqua Institution hosted its first-ever naturalization ceremony this week. A total of 30 people from the Buffalo area took their oaths of allegiance and were welcomed at the Amphitheater as new U.S. citizens. Chautauqua spokesperson Jill McCormick, who was a call-in guest on WDOE's "Viewpoint" program on Friday, says the Amphitheater was "almost full" of Chautauquans who watched the ceremony happen on Tuesday...

The ceremony was presented in coordination with U.S. Citizen and Immigration Services. McCormick adds that with the response Chautauqua got to the ceremony, she doesn't expect it to be the last naturalization ceremony on the grounds.
